I saw this picture and thought it was kinda cool. It would be something I would do, only if it was a nicer car.

Well, you may have noticed that today was the day that Kontera Adds was installed. I had the opportunity, as many did, I’m sure, to join Kontera Adds with the help of John Chow.
I am pretty sure that by sponsoring his fellow bloggers, John gets a cut in the earnings. But I’m not sure how big that cut is. Perhaps someone who knows could comment??
Either way, when I first saw the opportunity, I didn’t want to go for it. I wanted all the revenue from the adds for myself. But I had checked out Kontera before, and one of the requirements is that you have to have a minimum of 500,000 visitors each month. Well, I just started out, and it is going to take me a while to get there, and to be honest, the money that I start earning right away will balance out the none I would have made if I waited till my blog got that popular by itself. And even then, 500,000 visitors a month is a lot of traffic!! I don’t know how long it would take me to get there, or even if I will ever get there with a personal blog.
It will be interesting to see how much revenue this addition brings to my blog. I’ll keep you posted, as I plan on giving monthly updates.
Well, I just got accepted at ReviewMe. You may have noticed the new link in my sidebar. I was quite excited by this, as I saw how it boosted John Chow’s income. Obviously I’m not expecting an extra $2,250 a month, because John’s site has a little bit more traffic than mine, but hey, I’m sure it will help out a bit!!
If you live in Vancouver, you know that yesterday, and today, where sunny spring days. Sunny weather like this is a huge pickup for me, because I love the summer.
When I arrived at school today, there was live DJ playing music and lots of students about. I go to UBC, and this week is the week of Storm the Wall. They set up the walls just outside the SUB, and they had music playing. What more can you ask for, other than people, music, and sunshine!!!
WHAT IS “STORM THE WALL”?
Storm the Wall is a 5-person team relay or individual event. Including a 225 yard swim, a 450 metre sprint, a 2.8km cycle, and a 1km run, followed by “storming” a 12’ wall.
Swim: 225 yards
Sprint 450 meters
Bike: 2.8 km
Run: 1km
Wall: All 5 team members climb a 12-foot wall
This event is probably one of UBC’s most well known Rec Centre event.

A while back, I noticed that I started my blog about the same time as Derek Semmler did. Well, to be exact, he had a one day head start, but basically the same time. But, it wasn’t just this that caught my attention. His first post, Welcome to DerekSemmler.com!, seems to imply that he was prompted to start his blog for a similar reason that I was. Tracking progress towards the dot com mogul status.
The thing about Derek’s site is that he has a general topic outlined. Money, Motorcycles and Cars (with a little bit of everything else). The thing about my site?? I don’t have a general topic direction, it is currently just “babblings.” I hope that my blog will start heading in a direction of a more consistent topic, but at this time, I’m not sure where it will go.
Whatever way my blog goes, you can be sure that I will always be a reader of Derek Semmler dot com. Why?? Because he won me over with a great post that really spoke to me, How To Procrastinate Filing Income Taxes.
Well, my huge technorati ranking boost that I got a while back was short-lived. I have gone from Rank: 11,785 (297 links from 291 blogs), to Rank: 281,370 (34 links from 16 blogs).
Although, it seems that I am not the only one, many other people have experienced this as well. Check out the following few posts to see why these jumps occurred.

Well, I enjoyed my higher ranking while it lasted!!! And now, back to the reality that my blog isn’t that popular, its time to continue trying to get traffic to my blog!!
I have never parked a domain, but a friend and fellow blogger has recently posted about his domain parking experience. His blog, Abbotsfordisboring.ca, is a simple blog that started off writing about thinks to do in Abbotsford. His most recent post, is about a domain that he parked WhereClothing.
I looked at the Sedoparking website and as far as I could tell, it didn’t say how much of the revenue it shares with you, it just said that it was one of the most “generous.”
Does anyone else have experience with this?? or had a successful domain name that has brought in a little cash on the side?? I’d love to hear about it!!
I was pointed in the direction of this video, and I felt I should share it. I love watching those guys who do wheelies on motorbikes, and this video is slightly different. It made me laugh, although there was a large chunk in the middle that I almost stopped watching.
Well, I saw Mr. Gary Lee crack 10,000 , and continue to jump to 2065! And I decided to check mine. I hadn’t checked mine for a long time, well, since I started the site. So I was rather surprised to see that I was at 11,765!!!
Rank: 11,785 (297 links from 291 blogs)
This was a bigger jump than I had ever imagined would have happened!!
My site is, or at least I think it is, now displaying correctly for all browsers. I have played around with the style sheets specs and the widths of my sidebars. I am still learning all of this, so I couldn’t figure it out for myself.
Thanks for all who responded in my previous post on WordPress Theme help.
And a big thanks to three of you, Jeff Kee, who nailed the problem on the head, Derek, who seconded the problem and then informed me of changes as I made them, and Sean, who also kept me updated, and informed me of what was happening.
Thanks for all your help!! And to the three I mentioned, I have added you to my Friends list, so you now have a link to your site permanently on my site!! Thanks!!!
