I’m Flipping Rich!!

Ok, the question:  How long does it take me to take a picture of myself in a certain shirt???  The answer:  11 Days, apparently.  I posted recently how I got to meet John Chow, and the reason for this meeting was because I won a Flipping Rich Shirt.

Derrik from FlippingRich.com, emailed me and told me that he wanted a picture so that he could put it in the world wide t-shirt sightings.  I had planned on taking a picture before hand, but this was further incentive!  And then school took over.  Finals came, papers came, and 11 days later, I finally got the picture taken.  And…next week is my worst week!!  So, lack of blog postings expected next week, sorry.

But as of May, I’ll be blogging full speed ahead!!  And hoping to increase in every possible ranking

And now!!  The long awaited picture!!!  The proof that I did in fact get a Flipping Rich shirt!!

Now I just need to become flipping rich….

Vancouver Sun Run

Well, today was the Vancouver Sun Run.  I ran.  I did not plan to run.

I had previous plans to be out of town for the weekend, but they fell through, so I never registered for the run. So, last night, I was chatting with my family, and everyone in my family except me had registered.  So, I thought, I wish I was running it!!  So, I joined them.  With about 53,000 people in the run, catching someone who wasn’t registered was not going to happen, so the only thing was that I won’t have my name in the paper tomorrow morning.

The Sun Run is Canada’s Largest Run, and it quite something to run with that many people.  Not the ideal race if you want to get a good time, simply because there are too many people.  But never the less, its a fun race.

Well, I learned two things today:  1: I am not in shape!! and 2: I need new runners.  The first one, will be hard…the second I think I can probably manage.  So!!  The challenge???  To get in shape!!  I’ll try and post regular updates on how this quest for fitness goes, and would encourage anyone to join me in the quest for fitness.  I encourage you to do this, because I have been quite fit at times, and know that life in general is that much better when you are in shape.

Team Hoyt

Team Hoyt is a father (Dick Hoyt) and son (Rick Hoyt, b. 1962) in Massachusetts who compete together in marathons, triathlons, and other athletic endeavors. Rick was disabled at birth by a loss of oxygen to his brain because his umbilical cord was wrapped around his neck, and he also suffers from cerebral palsy. Dick carries him in a special seat up front as they bike, pulls him in a special boat as they swim, and pushes him in a special wheelchair as they run.

Thanks to his parents, who ignored the advice of doctors that he would live life in a persistent vegetative state, and Tufts University engineers, who recognized that his sense of humor indicated intelligence, at the age of 12, Rick was able to learn how to use a special computer to communicate, using movements from his head. The first words he typed were, “Go Bruins!”, and the family learned he was a sports fan. They entered their first race in 1977, a 5 mile benefit run for an injured lacrosse player who was a schoolmate of Rick’s.

Dick is a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the Air National Guard. Rick earned a college degree from Boston University in special education, and now works at Boston College. They continue to compete in races, and are also motivational speakers.

As of June 2005, Team Hoyt had participated in a total of 911 events, including 206 Triathlons (6 of which were Ironman competitions), 20 Duathlons, and 64 Marathons, including 24 consecutive Boston Marathons. They also biked and ran across the USA in 1992 — a 3,735 mile journey that took them 45 days.

When asked what one thing Rick wished he could give his father, his reply was “The thing I’d most like is that my dad would sit in the chair and I would push him once.”

This is a truly touching story!!

Funny Moments in Soccer

Ok, I’m a soccer player, or I should say, was…other things have taken over my life, leaving me no time to continue playing, but I still enjoy the few games I play in throughout the year.

I was sent this video compilation of funny soccer moments. Take the two minutes to watch it, and have a laugh!!

The kid at the end rocks the entire video!!

Getting to know John Chow

Along with many others, I decided to put my name in the draw for a Flipping Rich T-Shirt, and I won!!

I got an email from John asking for my address, and when he found out that I was in the same city as him, he invited me out to the weekly Dot Com Pho so that he could hand the shirt to me in person. Of course I accepted the invitation and joined them.

Pho Lan was quite busy today, and we had to wait a while before we got a table, but when we did get a table, the food was good.  Before we ordered, however, I played a bit of musical chairs with John, trying to find the best seating arrangement to keep Sally happy.  Sally, who had been having a rough morning from random shouts of “Sally Chow Dot Com!!” from Paul of www.pualmudhar.com, was happy with our seating arrangement, and settled down to chew on the table, which apparently was quite tasty!!

Well, I got my FlippingRich.com T-Shirt, (which I will take a picture of when I get a chance) and got to meet some bloggers face to face.

I learned a lot this afternoon, from hearing John, Greg, and Paul chatting, and hope I can continue to learn and put some of it to use so that I can make money online.   <–just had to throw that one in there for John!!

Medtronic Paradigm

About 4 years ago, I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes, and have been taking insulin shots ever since.  I have always had a positive outlook on this, and have never minded it too much.  And have always been keen on educating myself on current control methods, etc.  of Diabetes.

Recently, I decided that I would try out the pump!!  For those of you who are not familiar with an insulin pump, it is what it sounds like.  A pump that pumps insulin.  It is connect to you by a small tube and it usually is on your waste, how many people carry their cell phones, or mp3 players.

When this box arrive the other day, I was super excited!!!

It had been delayed for a few weeks, because of Canada Post losing something, and then some miscommunication, and I wasn’t quite expecting it the day it arrived, which made it even more exciting.

There is the box of the actual pump!

And the pump itself.  It is quite small, and very easy to use.  Almost fool-proof, which you would like, considering that pressing the wrong button could put you in hospital, or even kill you.

To compare size, I decided to take a picture with it beside my cell phone.  I figured that phones are pretty much a standard size, and if not, you may recognize my phone, and know what size it is.

I am getting it “installed” and my official training soon!!  I’ll be sure to update you all on this, and tell you how it goes!!

Steve Grimmett

Well, some of you have checked out my brother’s site, and others may have not.  After I started up my blog on my name as the domain, he decided to challenge me to see who could rise the fastest, so he started his own blog.

I see he has already been comparing our March Statistics, and I won!!!  Well, I had a bit of a head start, but Steve works hard, and I think this month will be a lot closer.

Check in next month for to see who wins the battle for April!

March Dot Com Mogul Review

Well, March is over, and its time to look at the Dot Com Mogul Checklist once again.

  • Your income is made from the Internet
  • I’d have to say that this isn’t true, as I can’t quite live off my $3.33 quite yet, but I’m working on it.

  • The minimum Internet income level is $10,000 per month (you can not add income from other sources to hit this $10K level)
  • Well…see the comment above, I’m not quite there.

  • You have no jobs outside of the Internet
  • Again, covered in the comment above.

  • You have a personal blog with your name as the domain name
  • Check!!  You are reading it right now!!

  • Your blog must be updated at least once per week
  • Check, my goal is actually at least one post per day, but these past few weeks have been hard to keep up with, because of school stealing all my time, but exams are finished in a few weeks, so I’ll be able to spend more time on it.

  • A Google search of your name must be at the #1 spot
  • Check.  I was pleasantly surprised at how fast I climbed to that spot, I guess my name isn’t that popular.

  • You must be willing to help dot com mogul wannabes
  • Check!  I’m learning lots, and always trying to share what I learn, and therefore helping dot com mogul wannabes, mind you, that is what I am too

So, at the end of March, I can check off 4 of the 7 items on the list. That is over half way there!!  Although, the biggest half is what is left. Which I have set a goal for myself of one year!! It is a lofty goal, but one I am aiming for.  In reality I should probably set it back a bit, because going from under $4 a month to over $10,000 a month in less than a year is a huge jump. But it is something to work towards, and I believe in setting your sights high!  So, I did!!

Feel free to comment and leave a link to your March Review, I’d love to read them!!

Make Money Online – March 2007

Well, March is over, and it was the month I started my blog. In the first month online, I have been quite happy with the growth of my blog. Especially considering that I started about a week into March, and have been in a very busy term at school.

I must apologize for the lack of quality posts and my lack of presence in the blogging world this past week and a half. School has quite literally taken over my life, but the good news is, it is winding up soon, so that is good.

As I promised, I would do monthly updates on the progress of my blog, so here goes!!

I went from a Technorati Ranking of 2,763,138, to a Technorati Ranking of 252,051 (50 links from 18 blogs).

I added Google Adsense straight away, and made a whopping $2.87 in March!!

For the last couple of days I added Kontera Adds and made $0.46.

So, total revenue for March is a total of $3.33…hmm…interesting…three three’s in a row…is that a sign??  what is that now, good or bad??

Well, not bad for my first month!!  I’m looking forward to see what I can do in my first complete month!!!
